Dear Book Lovers,
It’s go go go here at festival HQ at the moment! As well as finalising our programme of speakers for June we’re also in the midst of re-branding our image and re-developing our website. We’re really chuffed with the results of these so far and can’t wait to share them with you soon.
Don’t forget we’re always on the look out for volunteers to help on the festival weekend and/or in the lead-up. Do drop our Volunteer Coordinator Debra an email if you’re interested: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Our children’s and young adult programme this year is looking really exciting! We’re especially looking forward to working more with local schools to provide opportunities of creative writing and illustration projects, as well as inspiring author talks and workshops. As we endeavour to keep the costs for schools and festival-goers as low as possible for these events* we’re hosting a fundraising event and we’d love to see you there! This has been organised by the wonderful Felixstowe Wine Appreciation Society. On Friday 30th January at 7:30pm at Trimley Sports and Social Club we will be having a French Evening. This will include a tasting of French wines compèred by Monsieur Emile Mercier. There will also be a buffet which I’m sure will be necessary as I’m told they have catered for a lot of wine per person! Tickets are £15 and they are fast selling-out so to get hold of them contact Alison on 07989293016.
Aurevoir for now!
*We passionately believe that young people from all backgrounds should have the opportunity to experience the empowerment, imaginative freedom and sheer wonder of creative writing and reading. These are our novelists, journalists, playwrights, poets and dramatists of the future. There’s a lot of talent in Suffolk’s young people and we want to encourage that to bloom!
