Today we have children’s author Ruth Fitzgerald joining us for #BookAdvent. We are delighted to say that Ruth will be with us in June to talk about her Emily Sparkes books with James Campbell, author of the Boyface series. This promises to be an event full of laughs!
Ruth writes…
2015 is nearly over and it has been such an amazing year for me. I have had two books published, which is not something I thought I would ever be able to say. I’ve met so many brilliant people and have come to the conclusion that all bookish people are lovely people! I have also visited a whole load of schools and had teary moments when children have come up to me and said, ‘You’re my favourite writer, ever!’ No doubt what they really mean is ‘You’re my favourite writer, at this moment, sitting in my school’, but I’m not going to argue.
Next year two more ‘Emily Sparkes’ books come out and I am looking forward to getting out to many more schools and meeting lots of young readers (and the ones who don’t know they’re readers yet, but whom I will infect with the ultra-contagious reading bug – mwahahaha!)
So, if you see me at a school near you, shout, wave and say hello, and I’ll do the same back! And it will be really noisy and we will probably get told off…
