We just wanted to send a quick message to you all on this sunny Monday morning because there’s a couple of things that you’ll probably want to get done before this Friday…
1.Enter our Adult Short Story Competition
That’s right, the closing date is THIS FRIDAY. Our judges are incredibly excited to get reading all of your entries on the theme ‘gateways’. Don’t forget that the winner will be published in Suffolk Magazine, win a year’s subscription to the magazine and £50. Second and third place winners will win £10. All winners will also get the opportunity to read their stories (or have it read on their behalf) at the final event of this year’s Festival. Simply send 3 copies of your story to: Felixstowe Library, Crescent Road, Felixstowe, IP11 7BY and please include a £5 entry fee to cover administration (cheques payable to Felixstowe Book Festival, please.) For full details go to our competitions page.
2. Buy tickets for our Quiz Night
Everybody loves a quiz night so come and join us this Friday with your thinking caps on! Questions will mostly be general knowledge with a few bookish ones thrown in for good measure. Come along to St Mary’s Church Hall in Walton at 7:15 for a 7:30 start with a team of up to six people. Tickets are £7.50 which includes a ploughman’s supper (BYOB) and you can buy them from Stillwater Books in Felixstowe or reserve them by calling Viv on 01394 549567.
There you go, that’s this week’s ‘to do’ list sorted!
Bookish best,
Hannah and the Festival Team
