Hello booklovers,
New year, new book club!
As a New Year begins, why not make a resolution to read more books and join Cuppa Book Club, which has its first meeting on Tuesday January 7th, at CUPPA (81 High Road West, Felixstowe)?
Cuppa Book Club is being run in conjunction with Felixstowe Book Festival, and will focus on authors visiting our town for the 2020 festival. Meetings will be on the first Tuesday of every month, kicking off with two thrilling crime reads: Nicola Upson’s Sorry for the Dead and Harriet Tyce’s Blood Orange. If you do want to put them on your Christmas list, please don’t forget to support our local book sellers. If you haven’t read the books you can still come along to listen or join in the discussion.
Local authors Ruth Dugdall and Liz Rastrick will lead the sessions, which will be informal and fun! There’s no cost to joining, but please buy a ‘cuppa’ on the night. We look forward to seeing you on Tuesday 7th January 2020 at 7.00pm.
Future sessions will feature the following books and themes but could change with the development of the Festival programme, so keep an eye on the website for any changes:
January, Crime reads – Nicola Upson & Harriet Tyce
February, Biography – Lives and Loves of the Mountbattens, Andrew Lownie
March, Ghost story – Haverscroft, S.A. Harris
April, How to be Autistic – Charlotte Amelia Poe
May, Children’s Programme – TBC
June, Women’s Lives – Salley Vickers & Helen McCarthy
Exciting literary times ahead!
I would love to join this book club but I am already committed on the first Tuesday of the month. Is there any chance it can be moved to another Tuesday, or another day? I am attending the first meeting as my other commitment don’t meet in January.
What date is the March meeting please?
Hi Jo, at present we have yet to confirm the March date but keep your eye on the FBF website for upcoming dates and themes for the Cuppa Book Club. Thank you for your support!
