Snow began to fall in Britain on Boxing Day 1962 and didn’t stop for ten weeks. Schools closed, food was rationed, families separated, people were confined to their homes, planes were grounded, trains and lorries came to a halt. Frostquake is the story of a national trauma which came out of nowhere and changed us forever, for when the thaw came it seemed that the extraordinary weather had acted as a catalyst between two distinct eras as Britain emerged with new life along with freedoms we take for granted.
Juliet is interviewed by Sara Sheridan who is a best selling Scottish writer who works in a variety of genres, though predominately in historical fiction. She is the creator of the Mirabelle Bevan mysteries, set one a year from 1951-1961.
