DESCRIPTION:80 years ago\, in 1939\, 10\,000 children travelled by train from Germany to Harwich. They were adopted by families from around the UK and became known as the 'Kindertransport'.\n\nStoryteller Elly Crichton Stuart shares a story of two children\, who left their home in Düsseldorf to travel across Germany and Holland to arrive in safety in Harwich. Their parents paid £50 per child and waved them goodbye at the station\, never to see them again.\n\nTickets on the door £2 (which includes entry to the Museum). Suitable for adults and children aged 9 +.\n\nAfter the event there will be an optional excursion on the Felixstowe to Harwich Ferry with Elly to hear more stories. Ferry tickets £9.\n\nThis event is part of our Pop Up events series. No need to book.\n\n&nbsp\;
