 Kitchen\, author Rebecca May Johnson explores how cooking is thinking\
 ; the transformative dynamics of shared meal\, the steps we follow when 
 we walk into a kitchen and tie those apron strings.\n\nFor this talk\, 
 afternoon tea is included\, so please join Rebecca and Ruth Dugdall for a
  homemade  scone and scrumptious conversation about the recipes we choo
 se - how they work as memoirs - and the full meaning of the thing we do e
 very day: the power of small fires burning everywhere.\n\n\n\n Ticket pr

  a writer. Her first book Small Fires\, an Epic in the Kitchen was publi
 shed in 2022 by Pushkin Press and is described by The Sunday Times as 
 'A manifesto for reclaiming cooking as an intellectual'. Johnson has publ
 ished essays\, reviews and nonfiction with Granta\, Times Literary Supple
 ment\, Daunt Books Publishing\, among others. She was a creative writing f
 ellow at the British School at Rome in 2021 and has a PhD in Contemporary
