DESCRIPTION:The opening event of the festival has had to be adapted as Tessa Hadley is unable to make the journey from Cardiff in the current rail situation.\n\nWe are offering instead\n\nCoffee cake and a story with our Festival patron Esther Freud\n\nEsther will read her short story Desire\, which was published last autumn in The New Yorker and is the title of her short story collection - Desire and Other Stories\, which she is just finishing writing. \n\nThere will then be the chance to talk to Esther about the story and her writing life.\n\nCoffee or tea and cake included in the ticket price.\n\nSponsored by:\n\n
