Hayley Long began writing teen fiction while working as an English teacher. Her first teen novel, Lottie Biggs is not Mad was awarded the White Raven label for outstanding children’s literature by the International Youth Library. Since then, her fingers haven’t stopped typing. In 2012, she was shortlisted for the Costa Children’s Book Award with her novel, What’s up with Jody Barton? In 2015, she was shortlisted for the same prestigious award again with her most recent novel, Sophie Someone.  Hayley is now aiming for a third Costa nomination and maybe even a win.
