Katarzyna Bonda (b. 1977) is a crime writer and journalist. Following her first series, a trilogy featuring profiler Hubert Meyer, she is now working on a tetralogy with a difference – this time her central character, though also a police profiler, is a woman. Bonda worked closely with a real profiler for an earlier work of non-fiction, An Imperfect Crime, which describes the methodology of profiling, based on real criminal cases. She first made her name with Polish Murderesses, true portraits of women serving life sentences for serious crimes, based on interviews and court reports. Her novels too feature real problems affecting Polish society, such as alcoholism among women, the trauma of losing a child, or the difficulties faced by ethnic minorities.
