Working with extracts from Shakespeare’s The Tempest, in tandem with multiple stories and voices gathered from the local community, sound artist Lily Hunter Green‘s latest work ’Sea Change’ will provide an exciting new creative commentary on Europe’s ongoing humanitarian refugee crisis. Commissioned by Felixstowe Book Festival, ‘Sea Change’ will be located at the historic Landguard Fort, adjacent to the Port of Felixstowe, Europe’s largest container port and the site of many new beginnings, new migrations and new communities for hundreds of years. As its name suggests, ’Sea Change’ seeks to challenge stereotypes and misconceptions by transforming stories both old and new into something rich and strange.
This event takes place 10am to 3pm on Saturday and 10am to 2 pm on Sunday and is a non ticketed event. Entrance fees to the Fort apply.
