Join author Matt Gaw for this creative non-fiction workshop in beautiful Felixstowe Ferry. The session will include sensory walks, free-writing and personalised advice on how to start or develop your writing skills. The session will include some time in an inhabited Martello Tower.
Meet at The Ferry Café, please be prompt.
Matt is the author of The Pull of the River: A Journey into the Wild and Watery Heart of Britain and his second book is due for release this autumn. He has written for The Guardian, The Telegraph and Countryfile Magazine, is a wildlife columnist for Suffolk Magazine and edits Suffolk Wildlife Trust’s membership magazine.
Information regarding the visit to the Martello Tower:
There are stairs with a handrail up to the front door entrance, which make access difficult for anyone with a significant mobility issue.
The tower is a private home and so there are no public safety notices on the walls. Richard will point out any obvious trip hazards when the group arrives.
It is a historic building and some of the floor surfaces are uneven.
There is a toilet on a septic tank – participants are welcome to use the facilities, but only toilet paper to be flushed please
There is only one way in and out of the property and so, in the unlikely case of fire, leave by the front door.
