The Portuguese were the first Europeans to pioneer a sea route to India, South America, China and Japan, and to connect the far ends of the earth. Historian Roger Crowley will give a fully illustrated talk on their fascinating but largely forgotten contribution to world history, based on his latest book, Conquerors.
