Don’t miss your chance to meet best-selling author onboard the beautiful Orwell Lady as part of a river cruise planned for Sunday 14th May 2023. It’s your unique chance to chat with Louis de Bernières author of Captain Corelli’s Mandolin, Birds Without Wings, A Partisan’s Daughter and Notwithstanding: English Village Stories, and exponent of the magic realism school of literature. For ten years Louis was with the Antonius Players, performing music and poetry. He also writes and performs his own songs.
Louis says he intends to write more poetry and become more grumpy, reactionary and unreasonable as he gets older. He hopes to meet his end by being shot through the heart by a jealous lover at the age of ninety-six!
He’ll be discussing his latest book Light Over Liskeard – which is available to pre-order – as part of this picturesque cruise onboard the popular Orwell Lady.
Tickets for this special event are strictly limited. To purchase tickets, go to Louis de Bernieres tickets – Orwell Lady River Trips
The cruise starts at 2pm from Ipswich and returns by 5.30pm (Ipswich to the Port of Felixstowe)
Talk/music on the outward journey. Commentary on the places of interest on the return journey.
Book signing. Books on sale to be provided by Woodbridge Books.
