The ubiquitous shipping container or ‘Sea Can’ is a common sight on the sea and on trucks across the world. When considered no longer of use to the shipping company, containers are replaced, made redundant and, if lucky, re-purposed.

But do we ever hear it’s story, give a thought of it’s purpose and re-purposing? Containment is the story of one such shipping container exploring many issues; placement, misplacement, housing, employment, identity, the real cost of commerce, travel, redundancy and re-purposing. Told in traditional storytelling form guided by a loading log-book and our Sea Can’s unique identity.

This event is part of the Pop-Up Festival which will be using unique venues around Felixstowe for charge free, intergenerational events inspired by our port and sea side location.
