New York Times best-selling author Liz Trenow has returned to her roots for her fourth novel, The Silk Weaver, published by Pan Macmillan in January this year.

Born into a family of Suffolk silk weavers, Liz traced the company’s 300 year history to its origins in Spitalfields, East London. Her story, set in the 18th century, is inspired by the intriguing life of the eminent English silk designer Anna Maria Garthwaite who lived nearby, in an era of religious persecution, mass migration, racial tension and wage riots.
