John Nightingale’s latest novel The Appearance of Murder was Ian Rankin’s pick for his Christmas stocking. It was described as “The most teasingly pleasurable crime mystery novel I’ve come across this year” by John Sutherland (The Times, Books of the Year, 5 December 2015). It’s an absorbing, witty mystery in which crime writer David Knight is dragged back into a past in which it seems he may have committed murder.

John will be talking about crime writing and the inspiration for the David Knight series. He is a Suffolk author and former civil servant dealing in such matters as alcohol misuse and fraud.
