Margery Allingham is one of our finest and best loved crime writers, hailed by Agatha Christie as ‘a shining light’. She was also a remarkable woman, whose non-fiction book, The Oaken Heart, is a vivid, witty and revealing account of an English village in the early days of war.
Two of Allingham’s greatest admirers come together to celebrate her life and work: her biographer and publisher, Julia Jones; and novelist Nicola Upson, whose latest book, Dear Little Corpses, features Margery as a character, alongside her Golden Age contemporary, Josephine Tey.
