Detective novelist Margery Allingham completed one final non- fiction book before she died in 1966. This was The Relay, her account of caring for her mother and aunts in the last years of their lives and the importance of the handing-on process between one generation and the next. In Beloved Old Age Margery’s biographer Julia Jones interleaves chapters from The Relay with her own experience as a dementia carer in Suffolk and explains how the older writer has enabled her to feel positive gain from this unsought experience. Ticket price includes a free copy of the book.
