This one-hour workshop Rosy Thorntonwill explore, using participant exercises as well as examples from published works, how landscape and the natural world can be put to effective use in the writing of fiction.

What makes a landscape come alive for the reader? How can the backdrop to a story be used to enhance its dramatic impact? And what is revealed about characters through their interaction with the natural world?
